Autism is not a problem, it is part of our everyday life. At first, when I faced the fact that my sister has autism my doubts were not whether she will be okay but how will the society accept her.
Unfortunately, more challenging than the disorder is the way society perceives people with special needs. For example, there were children that called her ‘stupid’ and several parents did not want their child to study with an autistic one. These everyday situations show that tolerance can not be learnt from a book, it is something that comes from our homes and surrounding. All people should know that being different doesn’t mean being less equal. Better conditions for every person with disability means a better world for everyone.
