I was thinking about how my hometown has a multicultural background and considering its musical history, the people who live here, and their tastes, it is difficult to create something that’s not necessarily for the masses. Art is not valued very highly in my hometown. Most people do not understand what you do as an artist and there are no resources for art students – they believe that you can only make a living by being part of politics or by working on art-related projects abroad. These obstacles never stopped me from creating. I love to create things that have purpose and meaning in the world. I believe everyone should have something to offer in their lives, and I believe that everyone has something unique to share with the world. The best way for me to do this is through my music.
