Youth Council of the U.S. Embassy in North Macedonia The Youth Council empowers young people in Macedonia by providing a platform for ideas, projects and more. It also has an advisory role to the US Embassy.
The Youth Council of the US Embassy in the Republic of Macedonia is launching a new project, this time dedicated to the high school students. The goal of this mentorship program is to inspire and encourage the youth in Macedonia to follow their dreams and pursue any career they want to pursue.
During this program, you will be connected with a mentor who works in the field that interests you. Your mentor will be able to share with you his/her knowledge and experience in the industry and help you find the best path for you to pursue the career of your dreams. Every mentor will be handpicked for each selected student according to their application.
From your mentor you can get:
- Advice: There is nothing like good advice from people who share your career path and are further than you.
- Motivation: What gets you going? Seeing and hearing about the success of other people with the same goals can be a huge motivator. A word of encouragement from someone you respect can also go a long way on getting yourself in gear to continue on your path.
- Direction: Where do you see yourself in 1 year or 5 years? Set a goal and map your path to get there. Discuss options for online courses and conferences. Mentors can help you seek out trusted sources of education, shortcuts and Dos & Dont’s.
- Coaching: Mentors can be great coaches. They can help you focus on concrete topics that will be valuable for your future career.
- Support: Your mentor will be a proof that it is possible and will help you believe that you can do it too.
The mentorship program will last one month and the activities of this program will take place in April and May.
